This was our favourite stay so far in Sri Lanka. This family home is not to be missed. The room and bathroom were meticulously clean. Hot showers and a comfy bed. You could spend the day on the deck watching birds and taking in the green lush surroundings, drinking the most delicious pineapple juice ever. The meals are home cooked and super delish. Thisarn organized a 5-6 hour adventure into the Sinharaja Rainforest and we had an amazing time. He was so patient with us , making sure we saw all the birds and wildlife we came across. He spotted birds , lizards , monkeys and spiders that we would have never seen or learned about without him. We were provided a nice homemade lunch for the hike, all for a very reasonable cost. If you get a chance to support this family and enjoy their home and hospitality, you will have no regrets. We hope to return again one day and stay much longer!

It is a brand new house in the middle of nowhere. From the balcony you can watch a variety of animals, beautiful birds like the kingfisher and even an eagle, the peacock and water buffalos. It is very peaceful. If you prefer a quiet place, we would not recommend a stay during the Sri Lanka New year, because there are parties all over the valley. Also we booked a tour to the rainforest with Thisarn. He is a great guide with a sharp eye and an honest love for the jungle. It was a great walk.
